Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipsadly the coven 19 pandemic isn't over it is very important that we continue to practice safe habits mask wearing and get vaccinated there have been many updates over the past year including the strong recommendation for pregnant and breastfeeding women to receive the coven 19 vaccine pregnant women especially are at an increased risk for severe illness when compared with non-pregnant people severe illness could require hospitalization the need for a ventilator or even death additionally pregnant women are at an increased risk of preterm birth and other adverse pregnancy outcomes and although these vaccines do not provide 100 percent protection against infection the vaccines do decrease infection rates and decrease one's risk of severe illness and hospitalization none of the cova 19 vaccines contain the live virus that causes covid19 so these vaccines cannot make anyone sick with the virus keep in mind the immune response begins to wane with the passing of time stay safe vaccinate yourself against infection and to protect others we are all on the same side against coven 19.
