Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship[Music] when it comes to hormones we hear a lot about menopause but did you know that men have a similar change of life called andropause starting at age 30 men's testosterone levels begin to decrease by about one percent each year by age 45 about 40 percent of men have low testosterone levels commonly referred to as low t while some men have no symptoms others may notice depression fatigue poor concentration erectile dysfunction even a decline in muscle mass among many other symptoms getting older isn't the only thing that can lower testosterone levels medications including chronic opioid use injuries tumors liver disease diabetes and other diseases and treatments can also affect your levels your testosterone can be supplemented typically a simple blood test is all that is required it is important to see your primary care provider or hormone specialist for proper evaluation and testing if you are concerned about low testosterone you
