Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship[Music] I think Alaska is the best place in the world to live but many of us love to travel whether you're traveling for business pleasure or a little of both don't leave your healthy habits at home there are some simple steps that you can take to stay well when traveling and after you return home no matter where you're going it's a good idea to take sunscreen insect repellent and hen sanitizer it's always a good idea to see a travel medicine specialist at least one month before departure and find out if there are any special vaccines or medications that you'll need in the countries where you'll be visiting if you're traveling south of the Equator remember that our summer is there influenza season find out if your health insurance covers medical care abroad and consider additional insurance that covers emergency evacuations especially if you're traveling to remote areas if you're in an area where sanitation may be limited eat only food that has been fully cooked and served hot don't eat fresh fruits or vegetables unless you can peel them yourself drink only bottled or seal beverages and steer clear of ice it may be made with water that can make you sick if you don't feel well after returning home be sure to tell your health care provider all the places where you have recently traveled more information on how to be a healthy traveler is available at cdc.gov/scienceclips you [Music]
